Here is an e-mail that came in from a new member. We are in the process of determing if this suggestion can be implemented. In the mean time, anyone with comments or suggestions should send an email to webmaster@tulsahog.com and I will post it here.
I have only been a member of the club for a couple of years and what I am suggesting may exist or have been tried, I don't know....but what I would like to see is a 'forum' of some kind where local HOG members could interact and ask questions of each other regarding upgrades and various kinds of work that members have had done to their bikes.
I have been on many Saturday rides and also new-comers rides and talked to members who have had special things done to their bikes but can't get all of the details and then not see them again for months sometimes. On the AK. ride we met a couple who had upgraded to a stage II but had not used Screaming Eagle cams. I remember bits and pieces of a 2 minute conversation before we cranked up and hit the road again. His comment about "90 H/P to the rear tire and gets over 50 mpg" got me to thinking about an upgrade of my own but wanting to do something that had successfully worked for someone else rather than just picking a 'kit'.
I have spent countless hours over the last two months researching online Harley Davidson forums trying to gather information and determine fact from fiction regarding upgrades, and the work continues. It would be nice, if there was enough participation, to be able do this locally.
If this could be done from the Tulsa #1 web site is what I had in mind. If it requires too much maintenance I guess I could understand...just thought I'd ask.
