The Rally will be in Tulsa OK July 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2008.

From the Chapter Director

Well, the New Year ’08 is upon us.  2007 just seemed to zoom by.  Some of us are thinking about resolutions for the New Year.  What we’ll do or what we will give up.  I notice that over the years a lot of my resolutions are the same……something to do with healthy food and lifestyle… I just never seem to get those rights.  Hope you have better luck with your resolutions.

2008 will be the 105th anniversary of Harley-Davidson with the party in Milwaukee on August 28 through 31st.  It will also be the 25th anniversary of HOG (Harley Owners Group) on August 28th.  What a great idea that was!  From what I hear, Harley-Davidson is hoping to have their new museum open by the anniversary events.  If you’re planning to go, it’s not too early to try and tie up a hotel room or book a flight.

Another thing coming up in 2008 is the Oklahoma State Rally.  For the first time ever, it will be held here in Tulsa.  I am so excited to show our friends around Oklahoma and surrounding areas just how good Tulsa is and what great riding we have here in the city and our adjacent communities.  If you’re not from Tulsa, it’s hard to explain just how much excellent riding there is in Northeast Oklahoma.  In fact, there is so much good riding, its going to take us quite a few volunteers to organize the type, length and location of rides so visitors have a chance to pick what they want to do.  We will put something into the newsletters every issue between now and the July rally to provide more information.

The Rally takes place July 3-5.  July 4th is Friday.  There will be so much to do in Tulsa, that the major problems will be deciding what fits for you and your family.  Our main base of operations is the Marriott at 71st and Lewis but there are hotels everywhere in Tulsa of all types and price ranges.  A lot of our social events will center around the Cain’s in the Brady District with a parade that Saturday.  It will be a great time.

On Saturday, January 12th at 10:00 am we will have an open Chapter meeting at Myers-Duren to select ’08 Chapter officers and road captains.  If you would like to participate, contact me or any other officer and we can help you find a position that works for you and the time you have available to commit.  We sure do need the help tp support all of the great events scheduled in ’08.

Welcome to the Tulsa Area #1 H.O.G. Chapter web site.  It is our hope that this web site can provide an easy and convenient way for members to “keep up” with the various chapter activities.  It is also another way to submit pictures, articles stories, and opinions about various H.O.G. activities. Feel free to click on the “Email Us” link on our home page and send in any submissions or thoughts you have about the chapter.  We are looking to you, the members of Tulsa Area #1 H.O.G. chapter to tell us about your favorite ride or what types of rides you would like to see in the future.

Currently we have the various dinner rides and Saturday rides listed under the “Events” calendar.  We will post pictures from chapter rides in the “Photo Gallery”.  All of the chapter officers are listed under the “Officers” link.

This web site will only be as good as the input we get from you the chapter members.  Have you always wished you could be a news reporter?  Have you dreamed writing reviews of dinner rides?  Let us know.  The only way to provide useful information is to receive a variety of input, from you, the chapter members.

Keep in mind that the site is new and we will be making changes and additions as needed.  If there are topics you would like to see included, please let us know and we will add them to our “wish” list.

Please pass the word on to everyone you know.
